UKVMUG

So: tomorrow is the annual UK VMware User Group UserCon at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. I've just arrive at BHI and will be headed over to the NMM shortly for the #vCurry which traditionally kicks off things.

VMUG UserCon was the first IT conference I ever attended, and it's a highlight in my calendar every year - perhaps even more so than VMworld. It's a great opportunity to meet with a bunch of folks who work in similar roles, and have some excellent chat. Networking is something that I've skimped in the past because I'm not a natural extrovert, but small (well, smaller than VMworld!) scale events like this are a great opportunity to feel out the market, learn new stuff an generally relax.

If you're there this year search me out - I'm wandering around with microphone with an orange popfilter on it and would love to chat with you around VMUG, the recent VMware announcements or anything else on your mind for Open TechCast - I have stickers and badges to hand out!

If you're not there I really can't recommend it highly enough. It's a great event, and beyond travel (and a hotel if you're travelling from far away) it's a zero cost event. The food is great, the people are great and the sessions are always awesome. Get on board!
