2017: My goals

So I'm a little late in posting this. Sue me ;)

I wanted to follow through on my post earlier in the year (after failing to renew my VCP), which has taught me that setting myself goals and writing them down on the internet really helps me to work towards those goals. So here's my list

  • VCP6-DT. I've done some study toward this, and I had initially intended to take the exam at VMworld back in November but I wasn't confident that I could successfully take and pass 2 exams in that time frame so I focussed on a single exam (which I nailed, btw - VCP6-NV in the bag).

  • Finally nailing an MCSE. It's been a long time since I considered this, but the reality is that I work for a Microsoft partner and having something to show for my years of fun with MS tech is something to aim for (plus my employer needs me to qualify for partner status stuffs).

  • VCP6-Cloud. This is going to take some study, but I'm pretty much certain that cloud management and automation is my future with VMware technologies. This will also hopefully goad me into finally sitting a VCAP or 2 (VCIX is appealing...) which is pretty much as far down the VMware road as I can see myself going.

  • AWS stuff. This is one for the future - I'm targeting getting all 3 AWS Associate certs under my belt this year. Dev Associate is my first exam, hopefully in the next 4 weeks or so. I'm aware that I'm a little behind the curve on this, but I was always a late starter...

  • Finally I want to put some more effort into this blog, and the podcast - I'm having a ton of fun doing this, but I'm conscious that I need to be throwing more quality content out there.

Check back at the end of the year to see how much I end up checking off this list!
